Obituary of Chiaki Palmer

Chiaki Palmer, 68, of Zion, IL, formerly of Long Beach, CA, died on Wednesday, December 9, 2009 , at Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan. Chiaki was born August 20, 1941, in Yosuka, Japan, and married Joseph Palmer on October 5, 1970, in Waukegan, IL. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Chiaki was an avid bingo player and a Chicago Bears and Chicago Bulls fan. Survivors include her husband of 39 years, Joseph; children, Patricia (Todd) Herstedt and Joseph (Stefanie) Palmer III both of Kenosha, WI; grandchildren, Breanna, Henry, and Savannah Herstedt, and Christiahn Pivovar; one brother and two sisters; and many nieces , nephews, cousins and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Tomohiro and Kazuyo Imazeki and by a brother. Visitation will be Friday, December 11, 2009, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 12, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment is private for the family.
