Obituary of Barbara Pontillo

Barbara A. Pontillo Barbara A. Pontillo, 71, of Winthrop Harbor, IL, died on Wednesday, December 2, 2009, at Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan. Barbara was born January 19, 1938, in Ironwood, MI, and married Louis A. Pontillo on September 15, 1956, at Our Lady of Humility Church in Beach Park. She retired from the business office at Zion-Benton Township High School. Barbara was a loving mother and grandmother who thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her family. Survivors include daughter, Diane (Jim) Burkett of Winthrop Harbor, IL; son, Lou(Peggy) Pontillo of Winthrop Harbor, IL; daughter, Lynda (Mike) Trimarco of St. Charles, IL; grandchildren, Brian and Steven Burkett, Michael and Rachael Pontillo, and Michael and Nicholas Trimarco; sister, Kay Paremsky of Ironwood, MI; and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband Louis A. Pontillo; brother, Thomas Baluha; and father and mother, Frank and Gertrude Baluha. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, December 10, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Humility Church, 10655 W. Wadsworth Rd., Beach Park. . Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion. Visitation will be Thursday, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at the church. The family suggests that memorial donations be made to the Arthritis Foundation, 29 E. Madison St., Suite 500, Chicago, IL 60602 or to Our Lady of Humility Church.
