Obituary of Agnes Podborny

Agnes E. Podborny, 84, of Winthrop Harbor, Illinois, died on Friday, December 4, 2009 at Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan. Agnes was born August 29, 1925 in Carlyle, Illinois and came to Zion in 1966 from Chicago. She had been employed by Solo Cup Company in Highland Park, Zion Nursing Home and Zion-Benton Community Hospital (now Midwestern Regional Medical Center). Survivors include her children, Wayne (Karen) Podborny of Ingleside, Illinois, Karin (Clyde) Harper of Winthrop Harbor, Illinois, Dennis Podborny of Zion, Illinois and Alvin Podborny of Yuma, Arizona; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Shirley (Jim) Hillemann of Bartelso, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene in 1997; one daughter, Linette; one sister, Cleada; and her parents, Andrew and Viola McQuade. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 8, 2009, from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, with private cremation to follow.
