Dear Betty, I am thinking of you today as you lay George to rest. Please know and understand that I wanted to be there with you and pay my respects, but it is just not possible. I never really got to know George very well growing up, but enjoyed the short visits we had the past several years. I especially envied his patience and boatmaking skill, and you could easily sense his pride and satisfaction. Give my best to the boys, and God bless you today and in the days ahead. I will be sure to stop in to see you next time I get home. Carol and I send our love to you and our prayers heavenward. John
