Uncle Bob,
Where do I start?
You always made sure as kids that we got to do things that we would have missed. Amusement parks, pony rides, Masonic Christmas parties.
I remember you coming and playing poker into the wee hours of the morning with my mom and dad (your brother). When you smoked, you smoked Pall Mall cigarettes.
I remember visting you one weekend, when you were working a partime job in a gas station on the lake shore. It must have been 20 below zero.
Had you grown up in the South, you would have been considered the ultimate gentleman. Rarely did I see you angered, but when you were you established a presence that required acknowledgement.
It is difficult for me to realize that you are gone.
We talked about two weeks ago, and you were alert and with a good sense of humor.
It is impossible to cram how much you meant to me and my sister into this short composition, but understand that you made a difference in our lives.
Rest now, in the faith that you will rejoin your family.
Wait for me, I'll be along soon.
