Obituary of Jane Ower

Jane H. Ower, 86, of Zion, died on Monday, September 28, 2009, at home. Jane was born August 17, 1923, in Zion and was an active member of Christ Community Church in Zion where she attended Sunday School regularly and was a member of the Women's Circle. She belonged to TOPS and the Zion Moose. Jane enjoyed playing pinochle at the Zion Park District, traveling with her late husband, Dave, oil painting, and sewing. Survivors include 2 nephews, Dennis (Barbara O'Toole) Ray of Kenosha, WI, and Timothy (Kim) Ray of Wisconsin Dells, WI; and 2 nieces, Marlene (Harold) Hensley of Brandon, FL, and Donita (Frank) Robinson of Phoenix, AZ. She was preceded in death by her husband Dave in 1988; son, David Ower Jr.; daughter, Dora Lee Ower; brothers, Donald and Dick Gooden; sister, Gloria Ray; and brother-in-law, Robert Ray. Funeral Services are private for the family. Memorial donations are suggested to the Camp Zion Ministry of the Christ Community Church.
