Obituary of Helen Kimberly

Helen M. Kimberly, 83, of Beach Park, IL, formerly of Waukegan, died on Tuesday, August 25, 2009, with family and friends at her side, at Vista East Medical Center in Waukegan. Helen was born May 4, 1926, in Waukegan, and married Leslie W. Kimberly on on June 21, 1947 in Waukegan. She was a highly active member (and Past Board Member) at Wesley Church in Waukegan. Helen had been variously employed for the former Illinois Bell, Great Lake Naval Base, Abbott Labs, and First Midwest Bank in Waukegan. She always had a positive outlook on life. Helen loved the Lord and because of that fact she had a generous spirit and was always serving others. She was passionate about animals of all kinds, especially her pets. Survivors include 3 sons, David (Lisa) Kimberly of Nashville, TN, Lester Kimberly of Beach Park, IL, and James (Temple) Kimberly of St. Charles, IL; 11 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie W. Kimberly in 1993; son Thomas Kimberly in 2002; brother, Robert Stites (survived by Willie Mae); and parents, Glen and Lucy Stites. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. at Wesley Church, 3601 N. Lewis Ave., Waukegan. Burial will follow at Northshore Garden of Memories, North Chicago. Visitation will be Friday, August 28, 2009, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL.
