Obituary of Ivory Lakes
Ivory Lee Lakes, 60 of Zion, born November 23, 1948 in Waukegan, IL to Willie and Irene Lakes Sr., peacefully closed the final chapter of her earthly life on July 24, 2009 at the Advocate Condell Medical Center, in Libertyville, IL.
Ivory leaves to cherish her loving memories six devoted children, Deseral, Jeremy, Jermane Lakes, Azel (Marsha) Lakes, Cloyes Crump, and Ambrosia Shelley; her beloved father, Willie Lakes Sr; nine grandchildren, Quinton Lakes, Lamont Lindsey Jr., De'je Bizzell, Marcus Bizzell, Miracle McBride, Mylon Cardenas, Kimoni Muhammad, Kameron and Kalen Lakes, Da'Naije Ellis, Cloyes III, Christen, and Syria Crump; five dear sisters, Catherine Smith, Geraldine (Lamont) Jackson, Joyce (Jackie) Stanley, Joann (Michael) Thomas, Carolina Shelley; two brothers, Willie (Rose Mary) Lakes, and Larry (Carmen) Lakes; four aunts, Fannie Baker, Marie Davies, Cora Slater, and Lillie Greer; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Ivory was preceded In death by her mother, Irene Lakes; and two brothers, Johnnie Lakes and L.B. Shiner.
Visitation will be on Saturday, August 1, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. at the Mount Zion Baptist Church of Zion, IL, 2500 West 30th Street, Zion, IL. Pastor, B.J. Gaston officiating. Interment will be at Mount Olivet Memorial Park.
