Obituary of Samuel Castillo

Samuel C. "Sam" Castillo, 67, of Zion, died on Sunday, July 26, 2009 at Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan. Sam was born February 5, 1942 in Dallas, Texas and had lived in Waukegan most of his life. He retired in 1992 from Abbott's after 32 years. Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Carol; sons, Chris Johnson of Schaumburg, Illinois, Sam (Nicole) Castillo of Zion and Juan (Melissa) Castillo of Racine, Wisconsin; four grandchildren, Alyssa, Caleb, Angelina and Cadence; and one brother, Raymond (Jan) Castillo of Naples, Florida. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Juan and Fabian; and by his parents, Pedro and Cruz Castillo. Visitation will be Saturday, August 1, 2009, from 3:00 until 6:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. Funeral services will be Saturday at 6:00 p.m. at the Congdon Funeral Home with private cremation to follow. Memorial donations to American Diabetes Association have been suggested.
