To the King Family- We are so sadden to hear of Gordy's passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and yours at this time. Gordy and I worked together for over twenty years at the Zion Park District and he always had a smile to share with people, and of course, alot of laughs. I will treasure that time working with him and seeing him enjoy his work at the golf courses. He was a truly blessed man to have met you, Lerita. Take care, Dale, Michele and Cory Batz

King Family, I was lucky enough to know Gordy for almost 20 years. While most of our interaction happened in the workplace, I also had the chance to join him for quite a few Cub games and many rounds of golf. We are so sorry for your loss. We will be praying for you and yours during this difficult time. God bless. Sincerely, Gordy, Belinda, Carter, and Avery Shogren

We are very sad to hear about the recent passing of Gordy. My family began playing golf at Shiloh during the 1970s and we have know him since that time. We will all remember him as a very kind and an overall nice guy to be around. I remember that he took a great deal of pride in his work as well. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family. Please accept my condolences to you, Lerita, and your family. I remember Gordon when we attended the same Sunday School and youth group at Grace Missionary. I remember his easy smile and the way he was so accepting of other people. I also saw him numerous times at Shiloh Golf Course diligently taking care of the course where my husband and I often play. Please know that prayers are being sent heavenward on your behalf in hopes Our Heavenly Father will provide you and your family with the comfort and grace needed during your time of grief. I had the privilege of meeting Gordie many years ago through the Midwest Institute of Park Executives. When I was in sales Gordie was one of my favorite customers. Always smiling, always happy, always looking for a better way of doing things. His smile and laughter was contagious and he truly was one of the nicest people I have ever had the opportunity to know. I know Gordie's faith in the Lord was strong and what kept him going through this life here on earth. I know his pain is over and he is sharing in the eternal life promised us if we have the faith that Gordie had. My sympathies go to all you family members at this time, and I thank God that I did have the opportunity to know such an outstanding person. I know he rests in the Lord. May God Bless, and keep all you family members during this time. Rest in Peace old friend. Mike

Gordy was my very first boss out of high school. I started working with Gordy at Shiloh Golf Course in summer of 1988. I worked for Gordy over 10 years before he moved to Shepard's in 2000. Gordy was great to be around and would say things that would make us laugh all day. He will truly be missed as a close friend. Sorry for your loss.
