Obituary of William Blanck
William "Bill" Blanck Jr., 63, of Zion, IL, died on Thursday, July 2, 2009, at Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan.
Bill was born February 8, 1946, and married Karen Springer on February 6, 1965, in Zion. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Winthrop Harbor, and had been employed as a welder for his father's business for many years. Bill had also been employed as a maintenance welder at 6 Flags Great America. He loved his wife and children, enjoyed fishing and camping, and adored his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Karen; daughters, Lori (Jeff) Sells of Zion, IL. and Lisa (Dave) Huseman of Pekin, IL; son, Bill (Liane) Blanck of Wadsworth, IL; grandchildren, Jeffery and Heather Sells, Mattison and Nathan Blanck, and Nicholas and Logan Huseman; sisters, Joan (the late Charles) Aiuppy of Zion, Jeannie Steele of IL, and Jacqueline (Gerald) Leonard of Pleasant Prairie, WI; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Judy Smith.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, with Pastor Michael Brown of First Baptist Church of Winthrop Harbor, officiating. Interment is private for the family. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 8, 2009, from 500-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
