Obituary of Faith Barrera

Faith Ellen Barrera, 52, of Waukegan, IL, left this world to be with the Lord on Monday, May 18, 2009 at Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan, surrounded by her loving family. Faith was born October 6, 1956 in Chicago and has lived in Lake County most of her life. She was baptized at New Hope Christian Fellowship Church in Mundelein. Faith was a member of Zion-Benton Moose and she was an avid bowler. She is survived by her husband, Rogelio Barrera; beloved mother of Antonio (Mandy) Barrera of Zion, Sheena Barrera of Waukegan and Alberto (Jeanne) Jimenez of San Diego, CA; proud grandmother of Melina, Antonio Jr., Aaron and Samuel Barrera, and Jonathan, Anastasia, Alberto Jr., Adan and Angelus Jimenez; loving sister to Suzanne (William) Durkin of Midlothian, IL and Michael Slominski of San Francisco, CA; and caring aunt to Christine Karwaezka of Lynwood, IL and Jennifer (Kenneth) Shukat of Westchester, IL. She was preceded in death by one infant sister, Diana; and her parents, Bernard and Florence Slominski. Visitation will be Friday, May 22, 2009, from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m., at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m., at the funeral home. Burial later at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park in Zion will be private for the family. Memorial donations to New Hope Christian Fellowship in Mundelein have been suggested.
