Obituary of Viola Pfleger

Viola H. Pfleger, 73, of Zion, died on Monday, May 4, 2009 Helia Healthcare in Zion. Viola was born December 11, 1935 in Keil, Wisconsin and came to Zion in 1954. She worked as a cook in the kitchen at the Zion-Benton Moose Lodge, retiring in 2006. She also worked the kitchen at Bingo at the Moose Lodge. Viola enjoyed bowling and gambling, especially her Lotto tickets. Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Robert; children, Susan (Clayton) Hastings of Beach Park, Derise Boyer of Beach Park, William (Cindy) Pfleger of Zion, Peter (Becky) Pfleger of Winthrop Harbor and Carol (William) Hollen of Waukegan; fourteen grandchildren, Katie, John, Jeff, Steve, Val, Thomas "Clyde", Karen, William Jr., Maxwell, Michael, Lita, Alex, Angel and Peter Jr.; and three great-grandchildren, Jessica, Katlin and Trey. She had many friends and will be missed by all. She was preceded in death by her son, Robert in 1985; and her father and mother, William and Norma Kulow. A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2009, from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m, at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. Memorial donations to the Zion-Benton Women of the Moose has been suggested.
