Obituary of Howard Emanuelson

Howard Joseph Emanuelson, 79, of Beach Park, Illinois, died on Friday, May 1, 2009 at Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan. Howard was born July 30, 1929 in Zion. He was a member of Christ Community Church of Zion where he served as an usher for the Church. For many years Howard worked as a General Contractor in Lake County and he was a member of Carpenters Union Local 250. He loved having coffee daily with his buddies in Zion and he enjoyed traveling to Door County and Florida. Survivors include his three children, Trudi (Tim) Johnson of Beach Park, Holly Emanuelson of Zion and Kurt (Deb) Emanuelson of Colorado Springs, Colorado; five grandchildren, Julie, Elise, Andrew, Erica and Jason; two sisters, Bette Tjader of Zion and Muriel Green of Ripon, California; one brother, Ken Emanuelson of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; and fourteen nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel; his son, Jay Nicholas; and one brother, Glenn Emanuelson. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2009, at 3:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 6th, from 1:00 p.m. until time of services at the Congdon Funeral Home.
