Obituary of Ruth Anderson

Ruth Anderson was born on Flag Day, June 14, 1913 at home in Zion to Glen and Blanche Anderson. Ruth was raised in Zion and attended Zion Parochial Schools. Ruth left Zion and moved to California while in her early twenties and later became a nurse. She was a surgical nurse for 30 years before moving back to Zion to care for an ailing family. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Donald, Robert (Ruth), Steven (Esther), John, Eunice (Herb) Davis, Paul (Millie), Silas (Rose) and Helen (Mel) Hockabout. Ruth was a loving aunt, great-aunt, great-great-aunt and great-great-great aunt to many nieces and nephews. Ruth was called home to the Lord on Friday, March 27, 2009 while surrounded by her loved ones. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, with Pastor Chris Holland of Seventh Day Adventist Church of Gurnee officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion. Visitation will be Wednesday, from 9:00 a.m. until time of services 10:00 a.m. at the Congdon Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Seventh Day Adventist Church of Gurnee, or the Christian Appalachian Project, or Help Hospital Veterans.
