Obituary of Timothy Barkhurst

Timothy "Timmy B" Barkhurst, 25, of Clinton, IA, and formerly of Winthrop Harbor, IL, died on Thursday, March 19, 2009, in Cedar Rapids, IA. Tim was born June 4, 1983, in Lake Forest, IL, and graduated from Warren Township High School in 2001. He was employed recently as a pipe fitter for Archer Daniels Midland in Clinton, IA, and was formerly an employee of the Public Works Center at Great Lakes. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Libertyville, IL. Tim was a loving son and grandson. He enjoyed life. Survivors include his mother, Linda Barkhurst of Winthrop Harbor, IL; father, Cornell M. Barkhurst of IA; one step-sister; one half-sister; and one half- brother; grandmothers Mary Hahn of Crete, IL, and Patricia Barkhurst of Phoenix, AZ; and many cousins and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Robert Hahn and Ira Barkhurst, A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, March 23, 2009, at 6:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., IL, with Pastor Jack Kelly of Our Savior's Lutheran Church of Zion, officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
