Obituary of Robert Ahern

Robert Ahern, 44, of Zion, died on March 5, 2009 at Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan. He was born December 22, 1964 in Waukegan. To everyone who knew him, loved him, cared for him, we his immediate family thank you from our hearts and souls. We appreciate what you have done for Bob. We thank you for keeping him safe and warm in the comfort of your homes and in the warmth of your hearts. Thank you for your kind, warm and gentle words in our time of need. It's amazing how many people Bobby touched. He wouldn't allow himself to be a charity case, but would work for what he received. He helped all those who he knew, in on way or another, whether it be cutting a lawn or shoveling snow, or just listening to comfort a friend or protecting those who need it. Survivors include his siblings, Connie Ranta of Jacksonville, Florida, Ann (Raul) Estrada of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Earl Ahern of Kenosha, Wisconsin; nieces and nephews, Charles Ranta, Crystal Aguilar, Miguel Estrada, Raul Estrada Jr., Victor Estrada and Ashlynn Hopper; and great-nieces and nephew, Efrain Estrada, Alicia Aguilar and Alexia Estrada. A memorial service and celebration of Bob's life will be held on Friday, March 13, 2009, at 7:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. Friends may greet the family at the Congdon Funeral Home on Friday from 6:00 p.m. until time of services.
