Obituary of Thomas Robinson

Thomas F. "Bud" Robinson, 27, of Beach Park, died on Sunday, March 9, 2009, at home. Tom was born September 6, 1981, in Waukegan, IL, and for the last 7 years had been employed at Abbott Laboratories. He was a graduate of Zion-Benton Township High School. Tom enjoyed practice shooting at the rifle range with his father, carpentry, and working out with weights at home. Survivors include his father and mother, Franklin and Sherryl Robinson of Winthrop Harbor, IL; sisters, Jennie Robinson of Winthrop Harbor, Amy (Rusty) Jones of Zion, Shaun (Mark ) Gehrke of IL; brother, Shannon (Shelly) Robinson of Beach Park; loving grandmother, Florence Phillips of Winthrop Harbor; uncles, Bill (Ann) Robinson of IL, Terry (Terri) Phillips of Winthrop Harbor; aunt, Mae (Berlin) Gober of Vina, AL; and cousins, Eric and Allison Phillips of Winthrop Harbor. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by maternal grandfather, Arthur Phillips; paternal grandparents, William B. and Ethel Robinson; and uncles, Robbie, Kenny, and Don Robinson. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 13, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, with Pastor Dennis Corley of NorthPoint Community Church, Winthrop Harbor, officiating. Interment will follow at Benton-Greenwood Cemetery, Beach Park. Friends may greet the family on Friday, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
