Obituary of Tanya Walker

Tanya Lee Walker, 63, long-time resident of Beach Park, Illinois, died on Saturday, March 7, 2009 at University of Chicago Hospital with her family by her side. Tanya was born August 22, 1945 in Waukegan, Illinois. On October 22, 1966 she married her soul mate, Robert I. Walker, and had three children, Jody, Billy and Shane. Tanyas joy in life was spending time with family and friends. She lived life to the fullest and taught everyone to do the same. She made each day brighter. Survivors include her loving husband, Robert I. Walker; children, Billy (Shelley) Walker and Shane (Karin) Walker; daughter-in-law, Sandy (James) Mink; grandchildren, Jody R. Walker, Austin Mink and Noah Walker; her father, Billy Grogan; sister, Paulette (Joey) Pilman and Billie Jeanne (Edward) Holm; nieces and nephews, Amy Holm, Abbey Holm, Joseph (Breezy) Pilman, Serene Pilman, Chelsey Pilman, David Faro, Kim (Scott) Gamble and Rich Reid; great-nieces and great-nephews, Haley Figueroa, Riley Pilman, Joseph Pilman, Cason Pilman, Jackson Lester, Collin Lester, Morgan Gamble and Taylor Gamble; and sisters-in-law, Joanne (David) Faro and Margaret Reid. She was preceded in death by her son, Jody R. Walker; and her mother, Pauline M. Grogan. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 11, 2009, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. at Northpoint Church, 900 N. Lewis Avenue, Winthrop Harbor, with Pastor Dennis Corley officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion.
