Those important to us continue as a presence in our lives. My own father has been gone for 23 years, but is often in my thoughts. Milt's strength of character affected an uncountable number of people throughout his active and engauged life. I know I treasure the memories created during our times together. Through his family and large circle of friends his powerful life continues.

My deepest sympathy to all of Milt's Family. I met Milt back in 1981 thru "Geo" one morning in a restuarant across the street from "Geo's" Office, and I came away from meeting and talking to him thru the years, whenever I was a house guest of "Geo's" that Milt was truly a Gentleman, who loved his family, and Zion, Illinois. He touched so many lives thru the years, and I am sure that he will continue to Pilot a airplane with our Lord.

My thoughts and prayers are with all of Milt's family and friends. The few times I was lucky enough to speak with him I was always taken back with how down to earth he was. He really cared about what people had to say and never made you feel like you did not matter. Beach Park will not be the same without him as our mayor.

Dear Ina and family: I was deeply saddened to hear of Milt's passing. I have the fondest memories of you all from my days working with Milt as our Mayor in the City of Zion and before that as I recall, the fearless leader of the Civil Defense and emergency rescue organization. He would come in to City Hall like a tornado passing through with always a big smile and his stories were wonderful and I loved to hear his laugh. You all will find such comfort in the coming days and years just reflecting on the many memories you have. God Bless you all.

To one of the best men that has ever lived, I can remember the first reunion I went to, and I was so welcomed into the family, and Milt just loved to pick on me, and for some reason kept feeding me donuts, I'll always remember the silly fly jokes, and what this man had to endure to keep us bug free. Milt I will always and forever remember you in my heart and a kind gentle man with a heart of gold, may you rest in peace and hide Julie chair for the meeting and fire, for I have become real close to her and I can feel her pain and sorrow, along with the rest of the family. Hugs and kisses always Sandy and Brian

It has been thirty-five years since Milt and I were in almost daily contact. Yet he has remained an important influence from which I have drawn inspiration and confidence in pursuing goals. The force of Milt's personality empowered those who knew him. He brought out the best in us with his vision and energy, reinforced by his character. You did not have to agree with him to enjoy hearing him speak. I, for one, never found our differing views of the world an inpediment to our friendship and mutual respect. Being a friend of Milts was an advanture. Rather like a cross between a rollercoaster ride and an energenic debate. He was interested in everything and multi-talented. As focused in community service as in his career; in his beloved family as in his wide circle of friends. My early impressions of Milt have never changed. He represents the strength of purpose and the unfailing confidence of the kind of people who built our country. He was a true American.

I can't imagine a better role model for my twin girls and me. As we watched my dad fight his last battle, I couldn't help but think of the positive impact he was having on so many as he greeted each challenge with courage and humor. The staff at the various medical facilities were blown away at his unflagging attitude. We are also blessed to have been part of his amazing dedication to the community. It has taught us all that our liberty and community are not just a right but also an awesome responsibility. The outpouring of affection from friends and folks in the community has been fantastic and my family thanks you all!
