Obituary of Donald Wurtzinger

Donald E. Wurtzinger, 76, of Pleasant Prairie, WI, and formerly of Winthrop Harbor, IL, died on Saturday, November 22, 2008 at home. Donald was born July 21, 1932 in Cicero, IL, grew up in Crystal Lake, IL, and moved to Pleasant Prairie four years ago from Winthrop Harbor. He was a Veteran, having served with the United States Army during the Korean War. Donald retired in 1997 as a truck driver for over 40 years. He was a lifetime member of AMVETS post 35 of Waukegan and Teamsters Local 705 of Chicago. Survivors include children, Patrick (Gail) Wurtzinger of New Mexico, Keith (Gail) Wurtzinger of Burlington, WI, Kathy (David) Picone of Florida, Peggy (Patrick) Drinan of Florida, Kerry (Rick Pospichel) Swoboda of Pleasant Prairie, WI, and Jason Wurtzinger of Winthrop Harbor, IL; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rita, in 2002; one brother, Robert Wurtzinger; and his parents, Fred and Hazel Wurtzinger. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 26, 2008, at 6:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 p.m., until time of services at the funeral home. Memorial donations to the National Kidney Foundation, 16655 W. Bluemound Road, Suite 240, Brookfield, WI 53005 have been suggested.
