Obituary of Earl Berrong

Earl W. Berrong, 88 of Winthrop Harbor, IL, died on Monday, November 3, 2008 at Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan, IL. Earl was born June 18, 1920 in Winthrop Harbor. He retired in 1975 from Johnson Outboards in Waukegan after 22 years and he was a full time farmer in Winthrop Harbor all of his life. He was a loving husband to Betty Lou for 65 years; beloved father of Terry (Carol) Berrong of Winthrop Harbor, Sandy Pontillo of Winthrop Harbor, Nicky Berrong of Winthrop Harbor, Kathy (Roger) Berrong-Robison of Strasburg, VA and Wendy Lee of Simpsonville, SC; and precious to him and greatly loved 12 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Berrong; one sister, Dorothy Cliff; and his parents, Polie and Rena Berrong. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 10, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. at North Point Church, 900 N Lewis Avenue, Winthrop Harbor, IL, with Pastor Dennis Corley officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion. Visitation will be Monday from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at North Point Church. Memorial donations to Winthrop Harbor Rescue have been suggested.
