Obituary of LeRoy Golwitzer

LeRoy "Lee" Golwitzer, 71, of Waukegan, died on Thursday, September 4, 2008 at Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan. Lee was born November 21, 1936 in Zion and had lived in the Northern Lake County area all of his life. He was self-employed as a contractor in the area. He was also a member of Zion-Benton Moose Lodge #667 and Anchor & Arc Lodge #1027 A.F. & A.M. of Waukegan. Survivors include his wife Joanne; children George (Terrie) Golwitzer Sr. of Bradley, Illinois, Keith (Vickie) Golwitzer of Oviedo, Florida, Judy Ledford of Beach Park, Illinois and Terry Ledford of Waukegan, Illinois; six grandchildren, Amanda (Jono) Dykstra, George (Katie) Golwitzer Jr., Joseph Golwitzer, Samuel Golwitzer, LeoCadia Golwitzer and Kevin Ledford; one great-granddaughter, Ella Grace Golwitzer; and two brothers, Roger (Barb) Golwitzer and Ron Golwitzer, both of Nevada. He was preceded in death by one brother, Richard; one sister, Kathy; and his parents, George and Ruth Golwitzer. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 9, 2008, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, where Loyal Order of the Moose defending circle will be held at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 10th, at 10:00 a.m. , at the Congdon Funeral Home with private cremation to follow.
