Obituary of Pauline Byrd

Pauline "Polly" Byrd, 86, of Zion, died on Tuesday, August 12, 2008, home. Polly was born June 4, 1922, in Indiana and was a member of Annunciation of Our Lady Episcopal Church in Gurnee. She was retired form Abbott Laboratories. Polly thoroughly enjoyed participating with the many activities of the Zion Senior Citizens. She was a loving and caring person (and Aunt) and was an avid Cub fan. Survivors include nieces, Cheryl (Dave) Nichols of Antioch, Il, Marcia Coppock of Zion, and Beverly Schwartz of Indiana; great-nieces, Tracy (Stephen) Maly of IL, Dawn (Mike) Bakkila of Winthrop Harbor, IL, Jodi Martin of Indiana, and Kristan (Glen) Goodson of Round Lake Heights, IL; great-nephew, Brian Nichols of Dunedin, FL; and many great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Byrd in 1999; brother, Ora Eugene Fewell; and nephew-by marriage-, David Coppock. A Funeral Service will be held on Fiday, August 15, 2008, at 11:00 a.m at the Annunciation of Our Lady Church, 5725 Sterns School Rd., Gurnee. Private interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion. Friends may greet the family on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Memorial donations are suggested to the American Heart Association..
