Joanne was such a sweetheart. She worked for me as one of the first female Paramedics in the State of Illinois. This was when I was Chief of the Zion Rescue Department prior to our combining with the Fire Department. We all had a lot of fun together and those memories will be cherished forever. I remember vividly trying to accommodate females in a traditionally all male environment. Joanne and her friend Darcie Brown taught me a lot on how to respect women infiltrating a "man's occupation". To her family and friends: Be assured that the time I spent with her as a Paramedic with the City of Zion, she made a difference in many people's lives. She "saw it all" and worked very hard in this job. I'm sorry we disconnected over the years as directions change in a person's life. God Speed to Joanne and my condolences to her family and friends.
