Obituary of Tommie Mason

Tommie Brent Mason, 67, of Zion, IL, died on Monday, December 29, 2014, at Aurora Medical Center, Kenosha, WI. Tommie was born October 16, 1947, in Dumas, Mississippi. He married Linda Seger on July 6, 1968 in Waukegan, IL. Tommie was a retired semi-truck driver and belonged to Teamsters Local #301. He belonged to the Mississippi Cruisers Car Club and was a former "Volunteer of the Year" at Illinois Beach State Park. Tommie enjoyed auto racing and woodworking. Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Linda Mason; children, Lori (Steve) Janis of Pleasant Prairie, WI, and Brent (Lisa) Mason of Wheatland, WI; grandchildren, Tyler, Connor, Morgan, Kyle, Caitlyn, Brent Jr., Kole, and Brooke; brothers, Otis (Gwen) Mason of Onalaska, WI, and Gerald Mason of Zion, IL; many nieces and nephews and other family; also surviving are special friends, Bob and Carol Tate of Winthrop Harbor, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, Otis and Anne Mason. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion, IL. Friends may greet the family on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Memorial donations to the family are suggested.
