My deepest condolences to her family and friends. I knew her as Mrs. Dixon. She was my accordion teacher from about 1959 until about 1970. I learned a lot from her and although I didn't take my accordion playing beyond playing for my family it's been a lifelong source of joy. I'm blessed that God put her in my path.

I worked with Vivian at Beulah Park School during the last several years of her teaching career. Even after teaching for many years, Vivian was one of the youngest thinking, creative, flexible, and enthusiastic teachers I have known. She was always optomistic, loved every child regardless of their challenges, and saw each challenge as a new adventure. When I picture Vivian in my mind, I instantly think of her wanting to try something new, or suggesting alternatives to work on a child's behavior. I think of her smile...seemed like a constant smile...and her positive remarks towards whatever new direction education was taking.
Although Vivian was a true professional, she was also one of the kindest and big-hearted person I have ever met. I am sorry to hear of her passing, and regretful that I will be out-of-town for her service. But I am ever thankful for the influence she had upon me as a person and as a professional. I will always remember you Vivian, wherever you are. Bless you.

Although it has been over 50 years, I have many good remembrances of Vivian as she taught at McElroy's Music Store. Sincere condolences to family and friends who remain.
