Obituary of Clifford Doxie

Clifford Wayne Doxie, 57, of Zion, Illinois departed this life on November 9, 2014. An active member of the Church of Christ, Cliff was called home by the Lord and Savior. He was born on November 9, 1957 to the union of RP and Viola (Shepard) Doxie, in Florence, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his sister Kathryn Doxie Andrews. He leaves to cherish his memory, the love of his life, Deborah Doxie; their three daughters, Monica Doxie of Waukegan, Brittany Doxie of Lake Bluff, Lavetta Doxie of Zion; god-daughter, Ajoyi Stackhouse of Chicago; three sisters Beatrice Ingram of Racine, WI, Earnestine (William) Wynn of Waukegan, and Laura (Larry) Johnson of Zion; three brothers, Eddie (Creola) Doxie of Waukegan, Oliver E. (Annie Mae) Doxie of Florence, AL, and Roy (Diane) Doxie of Florence AL. Cliff also left a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends, all of whom loved and cherished the time God shared him with us. The memories of his life, wisdom, humor and laughter shall forever linger in our hearts and minds. A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, November 21, 2014 from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made out to the Education Fund of Lavetta Doxie, P.O. Box 886, Zion, IL 60099.
