Marie and I are very sorry to hear of cousin Leslie's passing. She fought a long battle with her illness, but kept upbeat. She was very happy that she could participate in the charity walk she did last year - in her wheelchair!

For Leslie's family, Your Leslie was loved and appreciated by what might be thousands of people, some who probably didn't even know her name. Leslie welcomed people into her heart; she tried to be kind and have the mind of Christ about things. She was easily convicted and repentant if she felt she did any wrong. She always tried to put the best spin on things. Sometimes I thought she was "too religious" but as I got to know her better, I realized that she did not judge people if they did not do the more pure things she did. She loved life, lived it to the full, and died in confidence that she was going Home to Jesus. She is praying for you now in Paradise and you will be blessed in the days ahead. I pray you will be comforted in her great love for all of you.

Leslie was an amazing human being. I'm happy to have met her and shared every Thursday for more than a year with her. My condolences to her dear family. I will always remember her.

I am SO sorry that I am not able to attend the funeral. Perhaps Leslie will forgive me. I met Leslie in 2009 when I stayed in her apartment during the 100 year anniversary celebration of the Faith Homes. I began to realize that though I had been a Christian longer than she, that she was more spiritually mature than I, and that I could learn from her. Over the succeeding years we corresponded regularly as well as visited in person, and I received much help from her. I thought of her almost as a mother, even though she was only a few years older than I. I am astonished that during Leslie's battle with ALs, that I never heard her complain. She was like a saint. That only comes from the Lord --supernaturally, through the power of Jesus. What an example! The Lord chose to take her at a not-so-old age and we don't know why, but we accept His judgments. "All things work together for good to those who love God" Romans 8:28. "You will guide me with your counsel and afterward receive me to Glory." Psalm 73:24 I love you, dear Leslie!
