Obituary of Harriet Evans

Harriet Lehde Evans, 87, of Eagle River, WI and formerly of Waukegan, IL passed on September 16, 2014 with her loving family by her side. Harriet grew up in the Waukegan area where she attended school and went on to work for 30 years at Abbott Laboratories. After retiring, Harriet and her husband moved to Eagle River, Wisconsin. She became a member of the Kalmer Senior Group, where she enjoyed quilting, knitting, and reading. Harriet also enjoyed watching the wild life and boaters on the chain from her porch. She loved spending the summers up north and the winters in Illinois with family. Harriet is survived by her daughter, Sue Buttera; grandchildren, Janene (Kurtis) Buttera-Kick, and Janelle (Lee Pinkowski) Buttera; 2 great-grandchildren, Lillyan Buttera and Kody Kick; and many special friends, Andy and Teri Wodkowski, Betty Wilson, and Dave and Kathy Demets. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thorkild and Ingeborg Lehde; husband, Melvin A. Evans; son-in-law, Bob Buttera; and sister, Betty Preston. Visitation will be held Friday, September 26, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. with a memorial service to follow at 11:00 a.m. at Gaffney-Busha Funeral Home, 304 E Division St, Eagle River, WI. Interment will take place following services at Eagle River Cemetery, Eagle River, WI.
