Obituary of Shirley Fleming

Shirley E. "Skeets" Fleming, 93, a long time Gurnee resident, died September 12, 2014 in Zion, IL. Shirley was born February 11, 1921 in Oconto WI, the daughter of the late Thomas "Jack" and Yetta (nee Lorang) Richardson, and married Edward A. Fleming on May 17, 1941 at Immaculate Conception Church in Waukegan. She was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Church in Gurnee, and was a former member of Our Lady of Humility Church in Beach Park. Shirley is survived by two children, Michael J. of Summerfield FL, and Timothy J. Of Naalehu Hawaii; three grandchildren, Joshua (Sienia), Matthew (Carinn) Derek; three great-granchildren, Daniela, Louie, and Finn; a brother, Harold of Chicago, IL; a sister Georgia of CA; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward; two brothers, Norman and Maynard; and a daughter-in-law Alice Fleming. Shirley will rest in Peace next to her husband at ascension Cemetery, Libertyville, IL. At her request, there will be no flowers or ceremony. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Salvation Army would be appreciated in her memory.
