Obituary of Arnetta Brookshire

Brookshire, Arnetta L. 82, of Park City, IL, and formerly a 45 year resident of Beach Park, IL, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 16, 2014, at her daughter's home in Wildwood, IL. She was born September 20, 1931 in Marion, Kansas, and married her late husband, David Eugene Brookshire Sr. on June 2, 1949, in Pond Creek, Oklahoma. Arnetta was a member of North Point Church in Winthrop Harbor, IL. She enjoyed gardening, ceramics, sewing baby quilts, and was extremely gifted at crocheting. Survivors include her children, Connie Brookshire of Little Elm, TX, Mahala (George) Couch of Wildwood, IL, and David Brookshire Jr. of Winthrop Harbor, IL; grandchildren, Sally (Nathan) Morton, Karen Couch, Julia (Gerson) Espinoza, and David (Eboni) Catalan; great-grandchildren, Charles Morton, Matthew Morton, Andres Espinoza, Gerson Espinoza Jr., Davin Espinoza, Quentin Dixon, Jada Dixon, Juliana Catalan, Levi Catalan, Jocelyn Catalan; sister, Carmen (Erik) Wood of Oregon; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Eugene in 1997; brothers, David and Samuel Haas; and parents, Samuel Haas and Ruth Dickinson. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 20, 2014, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Pineview Memorial Park, Beach Park, IL. Memorial donations are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
