Obituary of Ellen Gross

Ellen Irene Taylor Gross, 69, of Zion, died on Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at home. She was born August 13, 1938, in Ashe County, NC, and has been a resident in Lake County most of her life. She retired in the early 1990's from Winchester House in Libertyville. Her greatest joy in life was seeing the faces of her son, daughters, and grandchildren. Survivors include her two daughters, Berni (Rich) Crouthers of Beach Park, and Brenda (Walter) Luth of Waukegan; four grandchildren, Jessica Gross of Zion, Weston Gross of Zion, Colton Luth of Beach Park, and Rachellyn Luth of Beach Park; and siblings D.C. "Buck" (Hilda) Taylor of Richmond, VA, Ardean Taylor (Julian) Boyer of Richmond, VA, and Bobbie Taylor Gross of Marion, VA. She was preceded in death by her son, William Ralph Gross; her father and mother, Lee Taylor and Etta Barker Taylor; sisters, Stella Taylor Richardson, Bertha Taylor Gilley, Ruth Taylor Phillips, Beulah Taylor Boyer, and Juanita Taylor Ancarrow; and brothers, Hansel Taylor and Cecil Taylor. A memorial service will be held on Monday, May 19, 2008, at 7:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, with Rev. Paul Gerardy officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 p.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
