Obituary of Alvar Larson

Alvar "Al" Larson, 67, of Zion, died on Friday, May 16, 2008, at Kindred Hospital, Greenfield, WI. Al was born July 10, 1940, in Chicago, IL. He was a graduate of Lake Forest College and received his Masters Degree from the University of Chicago. Al married Marjorie Polk on July 10, 1965, in Sacramento, CA. He was the owner of Al Larson Construction. Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Marjorie Larson; daughters, Kim (David) Cassidy of Gurnee, IL, and Jennifer (Rob) Pelli of Zion; grandchildren, Madison Pelli, and Kailey, Danielle and Kyle Cassidy; sister, Margaret (Tom) Owens of West Chicago, IL; two nephews; and an uncle, Quentin Prosser. Al is also survived by his beloved dog "Max". He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvar and Epsie Larson Sr. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 20, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, Zion. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.
