Obituary of Leathel McDaniel

Leathel E. McDaniel, 89, of Beach Park, died on Monday, July 28, 2014 at home. Leathel was born January 18, 1925 in Lamar County, AL. He married Evelyn Wright on January 13, 1946 in Columbus, MS. Leathel was a 47 year member of Lakeview Church in Zion. He retired from the IBEW Local 150 and the North Shore Sanitary District. Leathel served in the United States Army in World War II from 1943 until 1945. Survivors include three sons, Danny (Rayle) McDaniel, Sherman McDaniel, and Terry (Angela) McDaniel; three grandchildren Ryan McDaniel, Sara (Joe) Esp, and Timothy McDaniel; and one brother Lynn G.(Bernice) McDaniel. Leathel was preceded in death by his father and mother; wife Evelyn McDaniel; and 8 siblings. A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 1, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Lakeview Church, 1821 Sheridan Road, Zion, with Pastor Les Martin, officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Entombment will be private.
