Obituary of Richard Hartke

Richard "Dick" B. Hartke, 60, of Beach Park, IL died on Sunday, July 27, 2014 at Aurora Hospital in Kenosha. He was born March 1, 1954 in Waukegan. Dick retired from the Waukegan Post Office after 23 years, was a tow truck driver for local Waukegan towing companies, and more recently was an over the road truck driver. His passion was his family. He also enjoyed his classic Excalibur Car, and he was a great friend to many. Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Mary Ann; children Chris (D.J.) of Waukegan, and Bob and Megan both of Beach Park; siblings Ron (Linda) of Waukegan, Carol (Dennis) of Machesney Park, IL, Ken (Cheryl) of Topeka, IL, JoAnn of Wheeling, IL, and twin brother Dave (Judy) of Gurnee; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Jesse and Ruth Hartke; and brother-in-law Roger. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 30, 2014, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 31st, at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville, IL. The family is asking for donations to assist with Dick's medical expenses.
