Obituary of Sirkka Aho

Sirkka Anita Aho, 90, of Gurnee, IL died on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at home and surrounded by her family. She was born November 19, 1923 in Chicago, was raised in Finland, moved back to Chicago in 1953, and has lived in Gurnee since 1996. She was a member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Waukegan. She worked as a receptionist/office manager for an Orthopedic Surgeon in Niles, IL. Sirkka belonged to Finnladies of Chicagoland, and she was an avid painter in her spare time. Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Arnold; children Eric Aho of Gurnee, IL and Karen (Victor Boyer) Aho of Roselle, IL; two grandchildren Aaron Boyer and Oliver Allen; and two great-grandchildren Skye and Taylor Allen. She was preceded in death by her parents John and Sophia Wanha-Aho. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2014, 11:00 a.m. at St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3350 N Delany Road, Waukegan, IL with Pastor Jeffrey E. Koth officiating. A visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at the church. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church.
