Just heard the sad news that had Skip passed yesterday. My sincere condolences to his wife and children. Having grown up across the street from Skip,I have a few personal and fond memories of him as being one of the "cool" older (teenage) guys in the neighborhood. We used to hang around together once in a while,it didn't seem to bother him that I was 6 years younger. One of those memories was how he made me feel that I!! was one of the "coolest" kids in my 7th(?) grade confirmation class when he he stood up for me as my sponsor. I remember him cruising the streets in that blue 60's corvette that he enjoyed so much and kept for all those years. Remembering also sitting in your parent's screened in porch watching TV and listening to AM radio rock and roll. Remembering walking down Beach Road after dark one time and throwing wadded up chewing gum at passing cars, one car slammed on his brakes and we ran as if our lives depended on it,down the street,covering those 2 blocks to your yard in record time. Thanks Skip for being a friend to that 11 year old kid who lived across the street from you all those years ago. You'll be missed.
