Obituary of Geralynn Proctor

Geralynn Proctor (nee Rose), 65, of Zion, passed away peacefully after a long illness on Saturday, May 10, 2008. Geri was born on February 27, 1943 in Lake Forest and remained a life long resident of the area. She spent her life as a loving and dedicated mother and wife. She retired from her career at Baxter Healthcare Corporation and focused her life on her family. Though the years are always too short, her blessings were many. She spent her last days at Sheridan Healthcare Center comforted with the presence of her loving daughter at her bedside when her calling came. The family extends their appreciation to the staff at Sheridan Healthcare Center and Seasons Hospice & Palliative Care for their help and support during our time of grief. Geri was a loving mother of four children left to cherish her memory, Steve (Heather) Thomas of Decatur, Illinois, Shawn (Terri) Thomas of Winthrop Harbor, Illinois, Kevin (Paula) Proctor of Ramona, California and Kori (Dave) Tienhaara of Trevor, Wisconsin; six grandchildren, Nicole, Jacob, Seth, Melissa, Andrea and Aaron; and siblings George (Diane) Rose of Wadsworth, Illinois, Bill (Karen) Rose of Oregon and Tom (Kathy) Rose of Benton, Illinois. Preceding her in death were her husband, James Proctor; and her father and mother William Rose and Elizabeth (nee Bickham) Rose. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2008, at 3:00 p.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, with Rev. David Hanson, Chaplain for Seasons & Palliative Care officiating and private cremation to follow. Visitation will be Saturday, May 17th, from 1:00 p.m. until time of services at the Congdon Funeral Home.
