Obituary of James Kroll

James "Jim" Kroll, 61, of Waukegan, IL passed away on June 28, 2014 from complications of Leukemia. Jim was born October 3, 1952 in Waukegan and graduated with the class of 1970 from Waukegan High School. He was a member of the Yorkhouse Methodist Church in Waukegan. After retirement, Jim worked at the Ace Hardware in Waukegan. Jim was an avid golfer, a fine woodworker, and a true musician on the saxaphone. Jim is survived by his wife of 34 years, Mary Kroll; daughter Susan (Jason) Yates; five step-children Jeff (Linda) Boyd, Denise (Steven) Cleveland, DeAnna Taylor, Jill (George) Bubalo, and Dale Boyd; two grandchildren Andrew and Haley Yates; six step-grandchildren Olivia, Drake, Alana and Elyssa Cleveland, Nickolas Bubalo, and Justin Boyd; mother Dorothy Kroll; siblings Jack (Laurie) Kroll, Jill (Richard) Cruey, Joyce Braitman, Bob (Cheryl) Kroll, Bill (Michelle) Kroll, and Karen (Bob) Schwanke; and many nieces, nephews and other family. He was preceded in death by his step-grandson Garrett Taylor; father Jack Kroll, brother-in-law Jack Braitman, and nephew Tom Kroll. A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 3, 2014 from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. at the Memorial United Methodist Church, 2935 Sheridan Road, Zion. A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be private for the family.
