Obituary of William Vidakovic
William "Bill" Vidakovic, 51, of Winthrop Harbor, died suddenly on Thursday, May 8, 2008, the result of a bicycle/auto accident in Winthrop Harbor.
Bill was born September 4, 1956 in Waukegan and lived in North Chicago most of his life, moving to Winthrop Harbor in 2000. Bill was well known by all the business's on Sheridan Road in Winthrop Harbor, especially Smoke For Less Shop (formerly the Cheese Shack).
Survivors include his mother, Virginia F. (nee Nagode) Vidakovic of Winthrop Harbor; siblings Nancy Stanley of Beach Park, Patty Beck of Wauconda, Karen (Art) Gesky of Gurnee, Nick Vidakovic of Winthrop Harbor, David Vidakovic of Winthrop Harbor, Thomas (Mischelle) Vidakovic of North Chicago and Robert Vidakovic of Dallas, Texas; many nieces and nephews; aunts Judy Sipos and family of Beach Park and Edie (Ron) Kantola and family of Waukegan; and cousins Gary (Pat) Znidersic and family of Waukegan and Ken (Eileen) Znidersic and family of Kentucky.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph J. Vidakovic Sr. in 1973; and one brother Joseph J. Vidakovic Jr. in 1979.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 12, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. at the CONGDON FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, with Rev. James Merold officiating. Interment will follow at Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville, Illinois. Visitation will be Monday from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at the Congdon Funeral Home.
