Obituary of Norman Abel

Norman E. Abel, 62, of Beach Park, IL, formerly of Waukegan, IL, died on Thursday, October 13, 2011, at home. Norman was born December 14, 1948 in Waukegan, IL, and was a graduate of Waukegan High School. He retired from the Outboard Marine Corporation in Waukegan after about 30 years of employment and then worked for Lee Auto Parts in Waukegan for about 11 years. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served two tours of duty in Viet Nam. Survivors include three sons, Rick (April) Abel of Salem, WI, and Scott Abel and Dennis Abel, both of Beach Park, IL; six grandchildren; brother, Frank Babnik of CO; and one niece and one nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gust and Dorothy Abel; and wife, Christina Abel. A Memorial Visitation will be held on Wednesday October 19, 2011, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL. Interment is private for the family.
