Obituary of Roger William Dobnikar
Roger William Dobnikar, beloved and devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 25th, 2024, in Waukegan, Illinois, surrounded by his family and loved ones. He was born on April 19, 1949, in Waukegan, Illinois.
Roger lived a life dedicated to service, both in his personal and professional endeavors. Roger was a devoted employee of Johnson Motors and was a proud owner of Jesters, a local sports bar in Waukegan. Roger was respected by colleagues and clients alike for his dedication and fun loving personality. Beyond his professional achievements, Roger will be remembered for his unwavering kindness, his quick wit, his passion for camping in northern Wisconsin, taking trips around the country on his motorcycle, golfing, attending his grandkids sporting events, and visiting his brother in Florida.
Roger is survived by his four children, Roger Jr. (Julie), Regina (Dave), Michael (Dawn), Christy; six cherished grandchildren, Collin, Kendall, Austin, Antonia, Tyler, and Cregan; one great grandchild, Chase; and brother, Boyd (Judyanne).
Roger was preceded in death by his mother, Eunice (Anderson), and father, Michael Dobnikar.
Roger's presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy of love, laughter, and generosity will continue to inspire those whose lives he touched.
A memorial service to celebrate Roger's life will be held on June 15th, 2024 at the Moose Lodge in Zion, Illinois from 11 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made towards a memorial bench to be placed at the local golf course where he was a league member.
