Obituary of Gary Smith

Gary Michael Smith, 38, of Zion, IL, died on Saturday, July 26, 2008, surrounded by his family. Gary was born September 8, 1969, in Waukegan and was a 1987 graduate of Zion-Benton Township High School. Gary was a lifetime member of Our Lady of Humility Church where he served on the Parish Council. He was preciously employed as the Chief Financial Officer for James W. Smith Printing in Gurnee, IL. He was a past member of the Sunrise Rotary Club in Zion and was a Past President of the "Craftsman Club". Gary was a loving husband and devoted father. Survivors include his wife of five years, Mitsu Smith; children, Katelyn, Nathaniel, and Breanna Smith of Beach Park; mother, Nancy C. (Raymond) York of Kenosha, WI; father, James W. (Sue) Smith of Wadsworth, IL; brothers, Matthew James (Barbara) Smith of Spring Grove, IL, Brian Richard (Michelle) Smith of Beach Park, IL, and David Henry (Lesley) Smith of Pleasant Prairie, WI; nephews, Alex, Jack and Krishen; nieces, Codie Shae, and Macey; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Arnand and Munju Rana; sisters-in-law, Reshmi (Craig) Pillay and Raakhi (Vivek) Ghodia; and brother-in-law, Paresh Rana. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, July 29, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Humility Church, 10655 W. Wadsworth Rd., Beach Park. Interment is private for the family. Visitation will be Monday, July 28, 2008, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL. Memorial donations are suggested to Our lady Humility Church.
